ATEX Certified Pressure Gauges For Hazardous Areas The ATEX Directive is derived from the French "ATmosphere EXplosible" and specifies the technical requirements to be applied to equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres which are likely to include offshore oil and gas platforms, chemical & petrochemical plants, mines, flour mills and other areas where an explosive atmosphere may be present. Ashford Instrumentation can offer 63mm, 100mm and 160mm diameter pressure gauges & thermometers as well as mechanical diaphragm gauges and differential pressure gauges that meet the requirements of the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC. The Ashford Instrumentation range of pressure gauges are available in all standard pressure ranges and dials are marked accordingly for ease of identification. Please note that ATEX Approved gauges are generally manufactured to order and ATEX certification must be identified to us at time of enquiry. ATEX certification can be quite difficult to follow as equipment is certified for different Groups and Zones. It is then further restricted to Surface Temperature. Typically the Ashford Instrumentation Ltd pressure gauges with ATEX Certification are classified as follows: Ex II 2GD T4....T6 Group II – Equipment intended for use in places with an explosive atmosphere other than Gas Zone 1 / Dust Zone 21 – A place in which an explosive atmosphere is likely to occur in normal 2G – Equipment Suitable For Gas Zone 1 2D - Equipment Suitable For Dust Zone 21 T4 - Surface Temperature 135C T6 - Surface Temperature 85C Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX): Applied Standard – EN 13463-1 & EN 13462-5 |
